HeinkelFest 2023

Bring your Heinkel to HeinkelFest 2017

September, 2023
Colorado Springs, CO

Warm afternoons and cool evenings, no better weather for scootering in Colorado!

Bring your Tourist to Colorado Springs for several days of beautiful riding, camaraderie, good eats and education.

Colorado Springs is an incredibly beautiful town that sits up against the foot of Pikes Peak.

Southern Colorado offers many beautiful ride destinations. The rally will begin mid-week to get a few longer rides in while everyone else is working.

This will be my fifth HeinkelFest. Since 2009, attendees have visited from Arkansas, California, Indiana, Massachusetts, Oregon, Utah, Virginia and of course Colorado. In 2015, three enthusiasts travelled from Germany. I hope to see many more next year!

The event is open to all Heinkel, OddScoot and Vintage scooter owners. If you have any questions, please send e-mail to me.

Schedule & Lodging

Stay tuned for schedule and lodging details ...

Notes:

Jetting: I have 15 spare high altitude jets for Bing carburetors. All Heinkel attendees will receive a loaner high altitude jet while you attend. Think of this as a mini-tech session!

Mind Games: Get ready for more mind bending fun. Who else offers this level of Heinkel-nerdiness?

Tech Sessions: In year's past, attendees have helped rebuild motors, changed cables, fixed carburetors and made countless adjustments. Expect more of the same.

Free Time: Don't feel compelled to do everything I have scheduled. This is your vacation - relax and unwind if necessary.

Surprises: Heinkels are rarely seen by most vehicle collectors. I have a few things that I hope will stun even the seasoned Heinkel enthusiast. Not anywhere else in the USA is all I have to say.

Ride Destinations:

Garden of the Gods:

Garden of the Gods

Garden of the Gods Park is Colorado Springs most visited park.

The park contains many rock formations which are ancient sedimentary beds of red, blue, purple, and white sandstones, conglomerates and limestone. The formations were deposited horizontally, but have now been tilted vertically and faulted by the immense mountain building forces caused by the uplift of the Pikes Peak massif.

The Garden of the Gods is located within Colorado Springs and is only a few minutes from downtown. I recommend several visits: morning, noon and night.

Visit the Garden of the Gods page for more information.

Pikes Peak:

Pikes Peak

If your scooter is up for the adventure and the weather cooperates, please consider a ride to the top of Pikes Peak.

Over the years, I've led nearly two dozen Heinkels up the mountain. I would like to see 20 on the summit in 2023!

There is only one way up and back: the route. You can expect a 4 hour adventure on this ride! During other Pikes Peak ascents, I've been stopped by snow at the 12,000 foot mark. Will we make it? Only Mother Nature knows…

Visit the Pikes Peak page for more information.
